I really liked the way the author handled so many of the thorny issues this book addressed, and there were quite a few. The thing I really like about Spotswood's books is that they are actually good books for teenagers to read. Jessica Spotswood is the author of the historical fantasy trilogy The Cahill Witch Chronicles and the contemporary novels Wild Swans and The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls. Powered by Wordpress and GoodLayers. wild swans is a bold contemporary that tackles issues of the heart in a sensitive manner and makes for a really engaging read on a summer afternoon. it has a vaguely whimsical feel, one that leaves a strange sense of longing in your heart. the book mostly focuses on character development instead of plot development. this means that everyone in the book is well fleshed out and has their own unique vibe, which really appealed to me as a reader.
